We are so glad that you want to help us out. Please provide the information asked below and we will contant you as soon as possible.
How You Can Help
  • Monitor and direct vehicles to available lots/spaces
  • All parking spaces are for off-loading purposes only and not for long-term use on the day of We-Haul
  • Elevator is located in Talge Hall; stairwells and steps will be negotiated in Thatcher Hall
  • We-Haul is a rain or shine event; in the event of lightning and/or thunder, please go inside until the storm has passes
  • Should the fire alarm go off, both haulers and greeters are responsible for removing all door wedges throughout the building; fire marshal will check; 5-gallon bucket for wedges will be either under the canopy or just inside the front entrance of the dorm
  • We-Haul is a rain or shine event
  • Greet parents and students as they approach dorms entrances and hold the doors open for them
  • Should the fire alarm go off, both haulers and greeters are responsible for removing all door wedges throughout the building; fire marshal will check; 5-gallon bucket for wedges will be either under the canopy or on the floor just inside the front entrance of the dorm
  • Be a welcome face to new students and their parents
  • Keep track of check-ins; schedule provided
  • Ensure handcarts are sanitized by haulers between each completed student move-in
  • Two volunteers will need to put doorstops in dorm hallway doors and in the doors at the top of any stairwells; 5-gallon buckets of doorstops will be in the dorm lobby with the other We-Haul supplies
  • Talge Hall We-Haul volunteers will bring the We-Haul dollies from the Talge Hall Conference Room out to the We-Haul station; carts will go behind signage that says, “Sanitized Carts”
  • Thatcher We-Haul volunteers will bring the We-Haul dollies from a dorm storage area on first floor and should see the dean on duty upon arrival; carts will go behind signage that says, “Sanitized Carts”
  • Sanitize all hand carts using the provided disinfecting spray and dry wipes
  • Canopy, table and chairs; signage will be returned to the residence hall lobby
  • Tie trashbag in can and leave in place; Service Department will collect
  • Two volunteers will remove all doorstops from all hallway and stairwell doors and put them in a 5-gallon bucket (potential fine by fire marshal if not removed)
  • Return handcarts to their residence halls: Talge Conference Room (9); Thatcher storage room (14); see dean for access
